What a life changing year! 2016 has been the most incredible year of my life, it gave me the opportunity to travel to parts of the world I never imagined I would be so lucky to see. I have found new homes in places that just last year were foreign countries to me.

I have been back home in California for several months now and I don’t even remember the person that I was when I got on the plane in May. I could not have asked for a more rewarding way to spend my twenty-first year on this beautiful planet.

I have ridden a camel through the Israeli desert, I have taught children in Zambia, hugged a lion, bonded with an elephant and cuddled with a cheetah. I have floated in the Dead Sea and walked the ancient streets of Jerusalem. I camped in the forest of Botswana while lions walked past my tent as I slept and watched as the waters of the Zambezi became Victoria Falls. I kissed the Blarney Stone and walked the halls of the Tower of London. I made bonds with people that live on different continents with different backgrounds and I made life long friendships.

Nothing could have prepared me for the incredible year this would be and I can’t wait to add to my list of adventures.

Thank you to everyone that made my adventures possible, thank you to Birthright Israel and the International Volunteer Headquarters for the opportunities you gave me this Summer.

I wish everyone a happy 2017 and I can’t wait for the next adventure!
