London and Guernsey

We stayed in London for three days before heading to Southampton to board our ship. Our first day was only a half day because we flew in that morning so we spent the afternoon running around London trying to see as much as we could in our short time!

Our second day in London was actually spent outside of London in Leavesden at the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour. Needless to say, emotions were running high.

Went onboard the Hogwarts Express!
Came home to Hogwarts!
Walked through the Great Hall!
Slytherin will catch up, it’s all good!
Gryffindor Common Room
Potions Classroom
Dumbledore’s Office
Finally drank some butterbeer!

On our last day in London we went on the London Eye first thing in the morning to beat the lines! We were able to see the entire city from the top, it was incredible!

After the Eye we went to the Tower Bridge and from there to the Tower of London where we spent a large portion of our day. If you only have a short time in London, make sure you visit the Tower. There is so much history there and the Yeoman’s tour is really interesting and entertaining.

We then made our way to the Museum of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral and dinner before heading back to the hotel for the night.

After London, we headed for Southampton where we boarded our ship and set sail for Guernsey, England. We didn’t have any excursions planned in Guernsey which worked out well because we had a great day wandering the small island. Our first stop of the day, a bookshop. The most important thing was that I purchase a copy of the brand new Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!

After this life changing moment, we walked back towards the water to visit Castle Cornet. The castle is 800 years old and was formerly used to defend the small island.
