Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

July 3, 2016
Today we decided to take a day trip to Zimbabwe to see that side of Victoria Falls. We met up with a fellow volunteer who spent the night in Zimbabwe to run in a half marathon there this morning. We all had lunch and then headed for the Falls!

Before actually entering Zimbabwe, we crossed over a bridge that was half in Zambia and half in Zimbabwe. We crossed the bridge on the wrong side so we took a picture with the “Welcome to Zambia” sign instead of the “Welcome to Zimbabwe” sign.

Two countries at once!

Our first glimpse of the Falls!

Victoria Falls is one one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. It is not the highest or widest waterfall in the world but is classified as the largest based on it’s height and width combined; the Falls are 5,604 ft. wide and 354 ft. tall which makes it the world’s largest sheet of falling water.

The further into the park you go, the more wet you get!
